Job Summary 

The Project Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for Repsol, vendors, and the internal project team. The role is to be the liaison between the EPC contractor’s engineering team, the Repsol engineering team as the owner’s engineer and the and the Project Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely completion of project deliverables including civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation and electrical.


Responsibilities/Duties 

The Project Engineer will be responsible for:

· Work with the Project team to develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and schedules

· Prepare RFQ or review of Vendor Quotes, Develop Technical Bid Evaluations with Clarifications.

· Take and/or review meeting minutes from project meetings.

· Organize and determines project specifications by reviewing Repsol’s requirements, standards, and or go-by information.

· Identifies critical path and/or progress inhibiting items, recommends corrective recommends corrective action, and coordinates with the Project Manager to follow through with implementation plan.

· Prepares project engineering status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

· Review of Vendor Quotes, Develop Technical Bid Evaluations, and Perform Clarifications.

· Ensure adherence to and implementation of Company Standard Operation Procedures

· Review and coordinate vendor documentation to ensure that the appropriate discipline reviewers are include, and that the returned comments are complete and encompassing of the overall design objective.

· Attend Project Reviews and Meetings (Design Review, PHAs, Weekly Meetings, etc.)

· Provide technical input and interface for Engineering and Design deliverables including the production of some discipline specific deliverables.

· Preparation of design criteria, specifications, datasheets, One-Line diagrams and elementaries for electrical equipment such as PV panels, inverters, tracker systems, GSUs, HV Equipment, etc.

· Facilitate review of Civil and structural plans, inclusive of Hydraulics and Hydrology and pile designs. 

· Facilitate review of SCADA designs per ISO and PPS requirements 

· Facilitate the review of PV calculations using PVSyst or similar programs.

· Facilitate internal studies such as load flow, fault current calculation, arc flash analysis, device coordination, motor starting and harmonic studies using ETAP, SKM or similar programs.

· Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes, and procedures.

· Manage, facilitate, and review design submittals and deliverables. Retrieve all comments and deliver review feedback to EPC and contractors.

· Provide construction and commissioning support.

· Identify and promote the close out of project Action Items


Qualifications

The main function of the Project Engineer is to successfully lead the project team in the execution of the project by ensuring the delivery of quality deliverables, maintaining budget, schedule, and identify scope changes as they arise. The Solar Project Engineer’s goal is to keep the project moving forward by identifying and resolving obstacles that would otherwise stop or hinder progress. In conjunction with the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will develop an execution strategy that meets or exceeds these goals.
