Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
This position is hybrid - Tuesday - Thursday in the New York Office and Monday and Friday work from home.
We are looking for a strong communicator and problem-solver who is knowledgeable in health and welfare benefits to join New York Life’s Benefits team. This position will be responsible for supporting benefit program operations and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Support CVP with the day-to-day operations of health and welfare benefit programs and vendor relationships

Responsible for understanding the benefit programs with a focus on the work/life programs (Education Assistance, Lifecare, etc)

Serve as lead contact with some of the vendors

Address and respond to escalated member cases

Support program vendor evaluations, performance monitoring, reporting, relationship management, and related inquiries

Support special projects to address continuously evolving business needs, including vendor implementations, strategic initiatives, and process improvement

Work closely and partner with stakeholders and colleagues across various areas of the company, including Procurement, Office of General Counsel, Risk, IT, Agency, Benefits Operations, to resolve incoming requests

Support RFI, RFP, and support contract (re)negotiation activities in partnership with Procurement, ensuring all activities follow appropriate compliance standards

Maintain and update all benefits vendor contract inventories, plan documents, SPDs, Third-Party Risk Management system requirements and vendor governance booklets

Complete required compliance filings

Perform and analyze reports to monitor the efficiency and competitiveness of each program against marketplace, highlight concerns/successes, and identify opportunities for cost reductions and/or service improvements on a continuous basis

Attend regular vendor calls/meetings as client support person and coordinate vendor meetings

Individual will report to the senior member on the team
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
-
3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources working on program and vendor management supporting medical, pharmacy, life, leave, disability, wellbeing and other work/life programs, or related experience

Strong problem-solving and skills

General knowledge on health and welfare benefits

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience with creating PowerPoint presentation decks
Salary range: $77,500-$132,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
