Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sr. Network Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be a core participant and leader for our network. We are looking for someone who is excited about networking, willing to learn and apply new skills, and wants to help us move forward with automation, cloud networking, and network as code. You will be responsible for core Data Center Networking, and a complex BGP routing environment. You will be part of a team to facilitate next generation architectural design.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design and document next generation networks to include multi-cloud and SDWAN
Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
Monitor network performance and ensure integrity
Resolve escalated support issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
Leverage and design automated tasks and monitor their effectiveness
Mentor team members on technical issues
Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
Communicate with end users/peers across the globe
Maintain and update complete technical documentation
Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
10+ Years Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer designing and deploying functional networks
Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCIE)
Solid understanding of network operating systems ((e.g. Cisco IOS, Cisco NS-OX, Juniper JUNOS)
Solid background in network administration and architecture
Azure and AWS Cloud design and networking knowledge and experience
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF) (emphasis on BGP)
Familiarity with access control models and network security
Extensive knowledge and application of coding languages for scripting and automation (e.g Python, Ansible)
Familiarity with devops philosophies, practices, and tools
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g. LogicMonitor)
Sharp troubleshooting skills
Organizational and mentoring skills
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Nautobot familiarity and use with automation
