Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $47,000.00 - $71,750.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Athletic Trainer – Youth Sports Programs

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Athletic Trainer for a multiple-role position supporting the HSS Regional High School Outreach Program, with youth sports outreach and other regional programming. This role includes independent high school athletic training coverage, being a local injury prevention educator for these local schools and direct clinical support to Sports Medicine providers within the HSS Sports Medicine Institute.

Primary Responsibilities

I. Clinical Coordinator – HSS Regional High School Outreach Program

The Athletic Trainer will serve as the regional clinical coordinator for the High School outreach initiative, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Organize and manage athletic training coverage, including scheduling and provider communication.

  • Provide independent weekly athletic training room coverage at designated high schools, serving as a primary point of contact for injury evaluation, triage, and management of student-athletes.

  • Administers first aid until appropriate medical assistance can be obtained.

  • Provide evening and weekend football games and potentially and other in season game coverage to assigned high schools, when needed.

  • Coordinate referrals to HSS sports medicine physicians and other appropriate specialists.

  • Maintain direct contact with the sports medicine doctors, coaching staff, strength & conditioning staff, Athletic Director, student athletes and parents so that there is a clear line of communication.

  • Evaluates athletes’ physical condition, response and progress and discuss with appropriate physicians, supervisors, and then informs coaches of status of athlete’s condition.

  • Advises and treats student athletes to maintain physical fitness for participation in athletic competitions; records and maintains appropriate treatment/rehabilitation records for student athletes.

  • Support HSS’s mission to provide community benefit and address healthcare disparities and social determinants of health.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our local partner High Schools, athletic directors, physical therapists, referring primary care and specialty providers and athletes and their families.

II. Advanced Practice Provider – Sports Medicine Institute

Under the direction of the Sports Medicine Providers, the Athletic Trainer will support outpatient sports medicine clinical operations by:

  • Prepare and organize medical records prior to patient visits, including relevant imaging, prior documentation, and clinical history.

  • Deliver patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and rehabilitation, including development of personalized exercise programs and home exerci
