WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Conduct competitive bidding (RFQ) actions for procurement of products and services which are not covered by an existing contract.  Award business to the bidder presenting the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while ensuring product and service quality meet or exceed required levels.
  • Negotiate procurement actions when multiple suppliers do not exist for required products and services, provided that a Single/Sole Source Award Waiver has been approved.
  • Place purchase orders with approved suppliers based on approved requests, approved requisitions, buy cards, or other automatic order systems such as kanban or steel bar program.
  • Work with planner/schedulers via routings for order placement with approved subcontract suppliers. Ensure necessary drawings, specifications, and special information is part of purchase order and forwarded to suppliers.  
  • Maintain accurate records, and electronic and manual filing systems for all purchase orders, attachments, quotations, and requisitions.
  • Approve and resolve invoice discrepancies, working with accounting team and customers.
  • Return non-confirming goods to suppliers.  
  • Ensure on-time delivery from suppliers.  Work with open order report to ensure schedules are maintained and communicate when changes occur with planner/schedulers and other interested parties.  As needed, expedite or adjust scheduled deliveries of materials with suppliers.
  • Handle pricing and supplier information on a routine basis in confidence.
  • Perform other duties associated with the Procurement Department as needed, such as soliciting EEO and Small Business supplier surveys. 
     

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • High school diploma required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in procurement, administrative, accounting, or related roles.  
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and reasoning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, demonstrating ability to communicate in a concise and meaningful manner with department and senior management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical materials, and legal documents.
  • Math abilities to understand spreadsheet functionality and correctly apply percentages and work with formulas.
