About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineers to join our dynamic Mainframe Modernization Team. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation, working on Core Modernization projects, developing highly resilient Micro Services and leveraging Gen AI LLMs for acceleration. We seek a candidate with experience in modern NoSQL databases, proficiency in Java/Python and hands-on exposure to LLMs to enhance productivity.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
- Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
- Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
- Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
- Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
- Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Mentor less experienced software engineers
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of application development in Java or Python, Mongo DB.
- Experience in using LLMs
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in data modelling techniques for relational and non-relational databases
- Excellent communication skills at every level of the organization
- Strong knowledge of all cloud concepts and production resilience concepts. Able to define architectures that demonstrate these concepts.
- Ability to lead and influence others and critique their work in a way that improves the overall team and the final product.
- Strong relationship skills that brings others in, educates stakeholders, and drives consensus.
- Very deep skills in at least two technical domains
- Experience in working with no SQL Databases like MongoDB, and big data storage like Data Lake
- Ability to troubleshoot analyze performance bottlenecks.

Pay Range:
- Columbus, OH $120,400 - 250,000
- Dallas, TX $120,000 - 250,000
