Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Sr. GenAI Director to join our next-generation film/TV studio. This key creative leadership role will be responsible for directing and overseeing Family Animation content development and production, leveraging both traditional entertainment expertise and cutting-edge GenAI technologies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong creative vision, storytelling abilities, and creative leadership experience from traditional entertainment, combined with a strong understanding and passion for generative AI's creative possibilities. This role reports to the Chief Creative Officer of Promise.

Family Animation

Family animation continues to be a cornerstone of modern entertainment, combining sophisticated storytelling with universal themes that resonate across generations. The explosive growth of streaming platforms has dramatically increased demand for high-quality animated content, while GenAI tools offer unprecedented opportunities to create visually stunning worlds and characters at scale. This vertical encompasses both feature films and series content, from children’s programming to four-quadrant animated features.

Key Responsibilities

1. Creative Leadership & Vision

• Provide creative direction and leadership for Family Animation projects from concept through final delivery

• Work closely with established storytellers, concept artists, voice actors, and post production specialists in the development and production of cutting edge creative

• Collaborate with Promise's technology team to push the boundaries of GenAI technical and creative capabilities

• Guide, collaborate with, and mentor creative teams in the development of concepts, pitches and produced film/tv content

2. Content Development & Production

• Direct the visual and narrative development of projects within your vertical, including leading the development of original concepts and IP

• Serve as the Film or TV Director on specific projects developed at Promise; this could include an original idea or a project develop in partnership with one of our partners

• Ensure projects meet both creative excellence and production efficiency goals

3. Technical Integration

• Partner with technical teams to optimize GenAI workflows for creative production

• Identify opportunities for new GenAI applications in content creation

• Help define creative requirements for new tech tools and capabilities

• Bridge the gap between traditional entertainment production and GenAI innovation

4. Team Leadership

• Mentor and develop team members' skills in GenAI-powered creation

• Foster a culture of innovation and creative excellence

• Collaborate effectively with other department heads and studio leadership

5. Industry Leadership

• Stay current with emerging GenAI technologies and creative applications

• Contribute to the studio's thought leadership in GenAI entertainment

• Help shape the future of GenAI-powered content creation

Qualifications

• Experience with GenAI tools and technologies in storytelling and creative production

• Experience in both traditional and digital entertainment production

• 8+ years of experience in entertainment creation and direction, with at least 5 years in a senior creative role

• Proven track record of successful creative direction on independent or major entertainment projects

• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative vision and execution

• Experience leading and mentoring creative teams

• Deep understanding of narrative development and visual storytelling

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to and leverage new
