We have a great onsite opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer - Program Model Based - Design, Manufacturing and Inspection Lead!
The Military Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) organization within Pratt & Whitney is seeking an engineering leader to spearhead the evolution of Digital Product Definition for a future military program. Customer requirements and industry progress necessitate a step change in the contents and fidelity of Digital Product Definition, encompassing enhanced information on dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes, with digital threads linking product definition to all internal and external manufacturing and assembly stakeholders. In the past few years, Pratt & Whitney has invested in significant internal development activities to enable these new capabilities. The program is now seeking a focal to own the implementation of these new processes of Product Definition across all engine components, as well as integration with Operations, Manufacturing, Assembly and external suppliers.
What You Will Do:
- Lead Program Engineering efforts to drive consistent, complete and unambiguous Model Based Definition, Manufacturing, and Inspection requirements across program Product Definition, Manufacturing, and Inspection activities.
- Manage a team of system engineers and MB-Definition experts to assist in timely execution of Model Based Definition.
- Actively engage with SIPT/IPMT leadership on near term efforts and long term planning.
- Spearhead deployment of required Model Based Definition software into secure network environments, working with Government Security Compliance and Secure Computing and leveraging work of Model Based Definition pilot activities.
- Integrate with all CIPTs and Module Centers on Product Definition for consistent application of standards and best practices.
- Drive, track and report training and proficiency level for Model Based Definition for all program Product Definition support.
- Integrate with program Operations, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain on planned deployment and utilization of Model Based Definition by suppliers.
- Work with Practioners to identify process opportunities and collaborate with enterprise team members to drive to quick resolution.
- Represent engineering by collaborating with various enterprise elements such as Government Security Compliance, operations, Manufacturing and Model Based Enterprise to ensure compliant execution of program specific requirements.
- Execute continuous improvement activity on model-based definition processes and coordinate process implementation with Design, Product Definition, Digital Technology, Government Security Compliance, Operations, Manufacturing, and Model Based Enterprise.
- Lead government customer engagements on requirements, digital execution, supply-base readiness as it pertains to Model Based Definition, Manufacturing, and Inspection.
- Integrate with Model Based Enterprise as a key stakeholder in projects dealing with automatic component update, inspection data ingestion, and digital thread.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering and 10+ years of engineering and/or manufacturing experience; OR an advanced degree and 7+ years of engineering and/or manufacturing experience.
- Experience with CAD and PLM software.
- US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
