Position Overview 

PADF’s Partnerships and Sustainable Finance team seeks a Program Associate who is highly interested in sustainable development, program management, nonprofit fundraising, and innovative financing solutions to development challenges. Reporting to a Program Manager on the Partnerships and Sustainable Finance team, the Associate will support program management efforts and assist program managers and directors in ensuring timely and successful delivery of objectives and milestones. The Associate will also develop communications products and conduct research on donors and partners, helping the organization to foster relationships that advance PADF’s mission and goals. This position is based in PADF’s Washington, D.C. headquarters office.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Program Support 

  • Assist in programmatic activities related to PADF’s programs in sustainable livelihoods, including programs that focus on economic opportunities, education, and climate resilience. Participate in and lead brainstorming sessions for new program development.
  • Draft reports to donors and other critical administrative documents based on donor guidelines and expectations, incorporating inputs and feedback from program partners and teams.

Program Communications

  • Support communications efforts for program-related and institutional visibility. This may include supporting the development of communication plans and content calendars; identifying needs for photos/video/other communications assets; and assisting program teams in planning to meet these needs; and developing and drafting social media content, newsletters, and success stories, among other communications products.
  • Support the organization and leadership of events, including events in countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. This may include liaising with partners and speakers, developing agendas, drafting talking points, and developing and giving presentations, among other tasks.

Partner Engagement and Fundraising Support

  • Conduct research to promote organizational understanding of donors – particularly private sector and foundation donors – and their priorities and opportunities relevant to PADF’s goals, and support the development of annexes and other documentation for funding application.
  • Support the drafting of project pitches, concept notes, grant proposals, and other applications for current and prospective donors.

Required Qualifications 

  • At least one (1) year of work experience in international development, non-profit or social enterprise, economic development, corporate social responsibility, and/or education.
