Job Description

What you’ll be doing

Experian Marketing Services Compliance & Privacy team is a part of larger NA Data Office and is responsible for ensuring the Business Unit is operating in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, industry self-regulatory guidelines, building and maintaining a superior governance program and operational risk policies, and guiding the product and sales team to create/offer compliant products/value propositions.   The role involves working alongside Corporate Compliance, Corporate Audit, Legal, Product, Sales, Data Acquisitions and his/her counterparts in the other NA Business Units to ensure compliance of all cross-business unit efforts/innovations. 

The ideal candidate is results-oriented, comfortable and effective at working with Senior Executives across the business that looks at challenges with a creative mind-set and has a track record of accomplishing objectives in a complex global business. 

  • Create/Maintain/Communicate compliance standards, policies and procedures; ensure that these artifacts are disseminated, understood and implemented across the business.
  • Define and deliver compliance education and awareness program to internal teams as it relates to Risk, Data Privacy, Marketing Services policies.
  • Serve as 1LOD Compliance for questions from Sales, Product, Data Acquisition on new product offerings, custom sales opportunities.
  • Define and implement a risk-based approach to identifying, monitoring, measuring and reporting various types of compliance issues. Develop action plans, schedules, status reports and metrics to improve the status of risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee/execute the Corporate sponsored Third Party Risk Management Program.
  • Responsible for the development of required remediation plans relating to compliance issues.
  • Support client discussions as it relates to compliance/Experian policy as required.
  • Plans, staffs, reviews and organizes subordinate staff assignments. Provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training and staff development.

Qualifications

What your background looks like

  • Significant experience in compliance, privacy and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations. (FTC, FCC, TCPA, CCPA, GLB, FCRA, CFPB, COPPA) as well as industry guided self-regulatory guidelines – (DAA, ANA, IAB, IAPP)
  • BA/BS required. JD preferred
  • 7-10 years functional experience.
  • International Association of Privacy Professionals  (IAPP) CIPP US privacy certification preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience developing and submitting audit and compliance reports to governing bodies, legal entities, and/or external authorities.
  • Solid understanding of assessing and designing internal controls in an enterprise-level environment.
