What does a successful Principal Database Architect (DB2) do at Fiserv?

As a successful Principal Database Architect (DB2) at Fiserv, you will be the driving force behind strategic vision, operational excellence, and risk management. With advanced expertise in your field, you will provide leadership through complex data analysis, contributing to Fiserv's growth and success. What you will do:

  • Managing and overseeing the progress of significant projects and resources, contributing to the overall corporate environment.
  • Evaluating progress and results, offering recommendations for procedural changes that resonate with Fiserv's values.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, fostering relationships with management, agencies, and customers that reflect Fiserv's commitment to excellence.
  • Applying advanced knowledge to complete complex projects in your field of expertise, aligned with Fiserv's innovation-driven ethos.
  • Providing leadership through data assessment, analysis, and application of best practices, contributing to Fiserv's industry leadership.
  • Collaborating with executives and directors to define organizational goals and strategic plans that support Fiserv's market-leading position.

What you need to have:

  • 8+ years in a Principal Database Architect role.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with specific expertise in DB2 on Linux, Windows and AIX platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience with database clustering and high availability solutions.
  • 6+ years of experience automating NoSQL day-to-day operational activities, such as security, index maintenance, backups, disaster recovery, and installation.
  • 6+ years of experience with Python, PowerShell, RedHat Linux, Mac OS, IIS, and Active Directory.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • 5+ years of experience with Windows OS, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience.

What would be great to have:

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends, enabling effective estimation of their impact on decisions and services.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing strategies that enhance customer/user satisfaction.
  • Experience in resource optimization and allocation, contributing to efficient project management.
  • Background in managing projects with substantial scale and complexity.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and security considerations within the fintech sector.
