The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for the role of Senior Financial Analyst within our Diagnostics- Transfusion Medicine division based in Lake County.
This position supports Manufacturing Operations within the site finance team, and it is primarily responsible for leading the annual standard-setting process as well as the planning, reporting, and analysis of Spending, Fixed Asset and Inventory Accounting, Headcount, Manufacturing Variances, new product costing, and new product line financial start-up.
WHAT YOU DO
Annual Standard Setting Process:
- Lead the annual standard-setting process for Lake County Site manufactured parts.
- Partner with operating personnel to prepare standard-setting templates.
- Manage due dates and deliverables within finance and the greater organization.
- Coordinate cost rolls, complete cost change analysis, and submit standard costs to the division.
Financial Activities:
- Oversee activities related to spending, headcount, R&D project accounting, new material setup, and costing.
- Handle monthly close, provide commentary, and develop forecasts for revised Latest Best Estimates (rLBEs).
Cost Improvement Projects (CIP):
- Collaborate with the Finance team and Business Excellence (Bex) to evaluate and track savings opportunities across the site.
Business Support:
- Develop partnerships with site functions including Site Leadership, Supply Chain, Operations, Site Quality, and Engineering.
Process Improvements:
- Initiate and implement process improvements across departments.
- Develop recommendations, propose and implement solutions considering business needs.
- Analyze and interpret data to support team objectives.
New Product Line Financial Structure:
- Work with site functions to develop the financial structure for new product lines.
- Gain approval for the structure across site functions and implement it across financial systems.
Compliance and Controls:
- Maintain proper internal controls and ensure compliance with Abbott policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required:
- Associate degree.
- At least 4 years of experience in the relevant field.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s in accounting/finance; MBA, CPA, or CMA is a plus.
- 4-6 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with cost experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and SAP; solid accounting foundation.
- Ability to communicate across management levels and functions.
