Pharmacy Clerk

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Greets and assists patients in person and on the telephone in a professional and confidential manner.
• Collects accurate patient demographic data from patients or caregivers.
• Collects requests for prescription refills from patients for processing by Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician.
• Operates cash register accurately, including cash, credit card, in-store charges and payments on account. Responsible for daily reconciliation of cash register.
• Prepares prescriptions for shipping, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists with all aspects of inventory control: ordering, receiving, stocking, returning, and additional drug inventory control duties, including checking pharmacy stock shelves for outdated drugs.
• Refers inquiries to pharmacist.

What you’ll need to be successful:

 

• High School Diploma or GED certificate
• Customer and detail oriented with strong administrative and clerical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft word and excel
• Enter data quickly and accurately
• Operate cash registers and other related machines
• Maintains strict confidentiality. Understands HIPAA regulations
• Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
• Must have a valid, clean driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age
•  (Health Only) FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals. Proof of immunizations is required, and immunizations/testing provided upon hire

 Preferred qualifications:

• Prior pharmacy experience desired
• Two years’ experience in customer service preferably in a healthcare setting
• Self-motivated and flexible to change
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational skill
• Ability to multitask and problem solve
