Context

• Follow all work instructions to ensure the maintenance of the machines and of the building or other equipment of Nexans Providence
• Ensure the best possible machine and equipment availability by performing preventive maintenance and any other initiative that would go in that direction
• Always maintain a very high expectation on safety for the employee and anyone else

Purpose

• Maintain, repair, improve the plant machines and equipment
• Anticipate problems, fix, adapt and improve the coditions

Areas of responsibility

• Make a safety analysis prior to performing any task in order to keep the environment safe to everyone
• Understand the urgency in case of breakdown and adapt planning
• Develop a local network of partners/ suppliers to effectively solve the problems
• Effectively communicate with other operators and shift supervisors to solve production issues
• Understand the need of change and find the right solution
• Report issues/ideas to Process and Operations Engineer
• Typically work 8 hour shifts, 1 to 5 days per week – depending on demand
• Maintain clean work environment on a daily basis
• Meet expected safety guidelines
• Adheres to all Nexans’ Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices
• Follows and abides by Nexans Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards.

• Low breakdown rate for machines
• Find solutions to technical problems
• Maintain accident free workplace

Required skills and qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic mechanical skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Computer knowledge and skills
• Ability to work a varied schedule with the possibility of overtime
• Ability to use small hand tools and have eye hand coordination
• Ability to become forklift certified
