As a Global Supplier Performance and Development leader (Sr. Manager), you will have responsibility to own the execution of long-term strategies and the operational direction of the region designated. Lead a team of Supplier Performance and Development Engineers to drive supplier improvement to achieve RTX Gold standards around, OTD, Quality and sustained performance. Support and guide your team on setting strategies for their focus and non-focus suppliers.
This individual will ideally work a remote role in the Los Angeles, CA area..
What You Will Do:
Lead a team of 3-6 Supplier Development Engineers
Drive delivery and quality performance for your regions, and be the point of escalation for focus and non-focus suppliers for that area. Problems and issues faced are undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem
Create and execute 8-18 months strategic plan for the team
Lead your team to develop business case proposals to support Collins Supply Chain when applicable to collaborate with commodity on the supplier strategies.
Provide leadership to drive supplier Performance+ across the designated region
Lead execution of Supplier Development Playbook, and take actions to address critical near term as well as long term, sustained improvement gaps
Mentor members of the team and ensure each individual has an Individual Development. Plan that will address skills needed for their role as well as long term career ambitions
Proactively communicate team strategic plans and actions to address missed targets to Regional Leader, and the Global Supplier Development leadership as needed
Drive cross functional, and BU engagement to remove roadblocks necessary to improve supplier performance
Eliminate major risks that will prevent suppliers from meeting performance targets, and escalate as needed
Schedule and lead critical supplier reviews with SBU leadership and operations
Must be willing and able to travel overnight travel 20% and day travel 40%
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
5+ years of experience in Engineering/Supply Chain/Manufacturing or related area with a continued proven track record of performance achievement and growth, with increased level of responsibility in an operations environment
3+ years of prior leadership experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other Business related field. Master’s degree in a related field
Knowledge in APQP with practical experience implementing APQP in a supply base
Experience in working with suppliers
Experience developing suppliers and supplier relationships
Knowledge of supply chain management in the Aerospace organization
Project/program Management
