<div> <p><strong>Software Safety Engineer</strong></p> <p><strong>Work Location: </strong>Huntsville, AL</p> <p><strong>Schedule: </strong>Full Time</p> <p>IronMountain Solutions is searching for a Software Safety Engineer to support a customer located in Huntsville, AL. An ideal candidate for this position must be able to work independently, often acting without direct supervision, be self-motivated, and able to build strong relationships across multiple project offices with all levels of Government employees.</p> <p> Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform software and firmware safety analysis across the system lifecycle.</li> <li>Identify, assess, and document software safety hazards, risks, and mitigations.</li> <li>Support system safety activities for identified Government defense technologies, such as radars, airframes, command and control systems amongst others.</li> <li>Evaluate software compliance with safety, airworthiness, and program requirements.</li> <li>Analyze requirements, design, code, test, and operational data for safety impacts.</li> <li>Support development and maintenance of safety artifacts (hazard analyses, safety assessments, risk matrices).</li> <li>Support verification and validation of software safety requirements and controls.</li> <li>Participate in safety reviews, audits, and program technical reviews.</li> <li>Collaborate with systems, software, firmware, test, IV&V, and quality teams.</li> <li>Document findings, recommendations, and risk assessments clearly and accurately.</li> <li>Lead software safety analysis activities for assigned subsystems and functional areas.</li> <li>Engage directly with program teams and customers to support safety objectives and clarify requirements.</li> <li>Provide technical leadership in software safety, hazard analysis, and risk‑management practices.</li> <li>Support major system reviews, certification activities, and customer-facing safety engagements.</li> <li>Advise program leadership on software safety considerations, mission risk, and mitigation approaches.</li> <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.
