Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly responsible position providing customer service for reemployment assistance claimants and general information for the public and/or processing initial or additional claims filed online.  Requires extensive knowledge of reemployment assistance laws and rules in order to provide excellent customer service.  The incumbent is responsible for several complex programmatic functions performed within the processes of the Reemployment Assistance Program.

 

Detects, flags, verifies fraud lock and halts identity claims using the FIRRE system.  Utilizes DHSMV’s DAVID system to verify claimant documents.  Issues identity verification determinations to ensure additional fraud payments are not released.  Follows proper Adjudication procedures and processes relating to 412/identity verification issues.

 

Identifies potential issues that can affect an individual’s entitlement to benefits.  Gathers facts from claimants, employers, and other pertinent or interested parties relating to potential issues and chargeability of employer accounts for benefit payments on claims.  Handles a heavy load of correspondence from employers, reviews and identifies issues requiring adjudication.  Issues non-charge determinations on fraudulent claims as needed.

 

Works with representatives from other sections, bureaus and agencies as needed to resolve any locked claims.  Unlocks claims and adds issues to ensure other units can perform processes on locked claims/previously locked claims as required.

 

Performs specialized work assignments and other related work as required within the units including but not limited to work search audits, eligibility reviews, job service registration, potential issues, rejected weeks, and/or returned employer notices.

 

Determines issues, concerns, and/or complaints from claimants, employers, and other customers.  Accesses and researches necessary records to either resolve those issues or refer to a specific or appropriate program specialist or supervisor.

 

Explains points of law and reasons for determinations regarding eligibility for reemployment assistance benefits.

 

Researches and explains the Reemployment Assistance Program at the request of callers and directs them to the appropriate place to file a claim.

 

Refers to various community resources and to One-Stop centers as appropriate.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • ​​​​​​Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence relating to an employment security program.
