Job Description

Composition Specialist 3 (Verification Specialist) Job Responsibilities:

• Starting Level of New Employees • Verification of barcodes (Quality Control) • Verify proofs to customer supplied flats and that content is correct. • Verify proofs construction example for gear and copy orientation. • Verify to additional specs for inks, folds, perfs, etc. • Verify to contract and proofread that content is correct. • Postal specs are correct to the contract and postal checklists. • Record time and materials accurately • Work in a neat, orderly manner. • Maintain support equipment (general and minor maintenance) • Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision: the ability to read and comprehend job instructions, short correspondence, and emails. • Ensure jobs meet scheduling and quality requirements. • Apply knowledge of packaging prepress to production workflows • Maintain communication with RRD PrePress Team Leader on orders to maintain their schedule as they flow through the verification department. • Facilitate the resolution of production-related problems in a timely manner and elevates appropriately when necessary. • Use ethical business practices in dealing with internal customers and others in the department.

Qualifications

• A graphic discipline related to functional work or role with 2-3 years of relevant proofreading experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience. • An attention to detail • Demonstrated knowledge of packaging prepress and print specifications for Flexo print processes. • Some experience working with different software packages, such as Microsoft Office or MAC OS preferred. Experience with software associated with packaging prepress (Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) preferred but not required. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to listen for understanding. • Ability to problem solve, analyze potential solutions, and use good sound judgment to make decisions. • Understanding of how to read a ruler. • Basic math skills required. • Team Player

Additional Information

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $19.50 - $28.00 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include  overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
