8Fleet is hiring! 8Fleet is a rapidly growing LA-based technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both non-autonomous and future autonomous rideshare fleets.

About the Role:

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of 8Fleet's operations in our first city - Los Angeles, including but not limited to: managing end-to-end operations, strategic planning, finance, business operations, and BD. This is an essential role that requires strong leadership, operational expertise, a deep understanding of the ridesharing industry, and a founder’s mindset. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in operations, be comfortable with fast-paced decision-making, have displayed leadership, and can provide open communication. This individual will be critical in helping the founding team navigate and grow the business, offering valuable insights and advice on strategic decision-making, implementation, and execution. We’re looking for someone who can successfully execute the role and grow within the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fleet Growth & Management:

  • Own all financial and operational metrics to ensure optimal revenue and profit maximization

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including driver scheduling, dispatch, and performance monitoring.

  • Manage vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and repair programs to ensure optimal fleet utilization and safety.

  • Partner with Recruiting and HR to develop and execute strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain a high-performing driver base.

• Driver Support & Training:

  • Provide ongoing support and training to drivers on industry best practices, safety regulations, and customer service.

  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for all employees.

• Financial Performance:

  • Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement in profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize fleet profitability.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress towards achieving business goals.

• Business Development:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including drivers, partners, and industry associations.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the Company's footprint and revenue.

• Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement necessary corrective actions.

Successful Candidates Will Bring:

• 4+ years of experience in startups or consulting with a proven track record of success in building and managing high-performing teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, SQL preferred.

• Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.

• Experience with ridesharing platforms (Uber, Lyft) is a strong plus.

Compensation:

Pay: $130,000 – $150,000

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.
