Job Description:

The Department of Administrative Services is currently seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join their team in Scottsbluff. The Maintenance Specialist will work as a skilled building laborer or tradesperson in the performance of safety inspection/training work and/or intermediate-level facility maintenance activities. Work is typically labor intensive and requires general supervision in the areas of plumbing, electrical, carpentry work, welding, masonry, building repair and maintenance, safety inspection/training or heating, cooling, and ventilation work.

Job Duties: Minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. Mowing, edging and groundskeeping. All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis as determined appropriate by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications: Welding

Other: This position requires driving. As such the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation. Regular and Reliable attendance is required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Previous electrical, plumbing or carpentry experience.
