Security Shift Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the Security Department on assigned shift.

 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior customer service.

Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates, and supervises assigned personnel; coaches for success and continuing improvement of employee skills.

Manages the administrative functions of the department on assigned shift.

Assigns and schedules the Security staff to provide optimum security for Harrah’s and Harvey’s guests, team members and assets.

Prepares and presents performance appraisals; makes recommendations for merit increases, transfers and promotions within established guidelines.

 Directs all Harrah’s and Harvey’s employees in emergency situations, i.e., bomb threats, fires, or evacuation.

Approves or initiates all arrests and 86’s on an assigned shift.

Performs the duties of a Security Officer I, II and/or Lead as needed.

Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of the material being handled
• Literacy and fluency in English
• Computer literacy
• Must have a valid Drivers’ License and clean driving record
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with emphasis in relationship building
• Outstanding problem-solving skills
• Outstanding customer service skills, both internal and external
• Ability to mentor, teach, motivate and lead
• Ability to obtain a license from the Nevada Gaming Control Board
• Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
• Acts as a role model to all Team Members and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same. 
• Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Highschool graduate or equivalent

College Degree preferred

Two or more years experience in a Security/Guest safety capacity

One or more years experience in a Security lead or supervisory

PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTALDEMANDS:

Auditory and visual fields must include immediate environment

Ability to move quickly in response to emergency situations

Ability to deal with violent situations by verbally defusing them or by physically restraining a violent person

Ability to rapidly climb 18 flights of stairs to provide assistance during an emergency

Must be able to bend, lift up to 45 lbs. and to carry the weight up to 20 feet

Must be able to walk/stand up to 8 hours per day

 

Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy 
environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products.  Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
