The Role

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting both Service Delivery and Sales teams within Lumen’s Public Sector organization. This position is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that improve customer outcomes, optimize operational performance, and drive strategic sales initiatives. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with strong business acumen and technical expertise.

The Main Responsibilities

• Partner with Service Delivery teams to monitor performance metrics, identify operational inefficiencies, and recommend data-driven improvements.
• Collaborate with Sales teams to analyze pipeline trends, customer segmentation, and revenue forecasts.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards using BI tools (Power BI, etc.).
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and analytical solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and present findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support data governance and ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of public sector data.
• Assist in the development of predictive models and scenario planning for service and sales strategies.
• Document processes and maintain knowledge repositories for BI assets.
• Strong business acumen

• Proficient in Excel and SQL
• Experience with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP).
• Knowledge of public sector KPIs and performance frameworks.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and data warehousing.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a passion for data integrity.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelors degree in business Analytics, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience in business intelligence or data analytics, preferably in public sector or government services, but not required
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization platforms (Power BI preferably).
• Database Management Systems experience such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or Snowflake
• Python development experience
• ETL experience
• Databricks experience is a bonus
• Experience supporting both operational and sales teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY 
$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI 
$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
