JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Applications at Polaris Pharmacy Services is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of all software applications within the organization. This role ensures that the applications meet the current and future needs of the business, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the company's growth objectives.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the application development team in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that align with business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and support of existing applications to ensure optimal performance and usability.
• Develop and manage the application budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Establish and enforce best practices and standards for software development and project management.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data security standards in all application processes.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the application development team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Evaluate and recommend third-party software solutions and vendors to enhance the organization's application portfolio.
• Report to senior management on application performance, project progress, and strategic initiatives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT applications management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and implementing enterprise-level applications in a healthcare or pharmacy services environment.
