Position Summary
Canteen Pacific is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Fleet Manager to lead fleet operations across 26 warehouses and manage over 1,500 vehicles. This role ensures compliance, cost control, safety, and sustainability while partnering with cross-functional teams to support business goals and mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Compliance
- Develop and enforce fleet policies; ensure DOT, OSHA, EPA, and local compliance
- Manage licensing, registration, insurance, and inspections
- Conduct annual audits and maintain driver qualification files in partnership with HR and Safety
Financial Oversight
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Monitor cost-per-mile, lifecycle costs, and utilization
- Manage vendor relationships and approve maintenance expenses
- Conduct ROI analyses for vehicle acquisitions and fuel alternatives
Operations & Efficiency
- Implement telematics systems (e.g., Geotab, Samsara)
- Optimize preventive maintenance and spare vehicle usage
- Ensure vendor compliance and maximize fleet uptime
Safety & Risk Management
- Promote fleet safety through training and incident prevention
- Investigate accidents and manage insurance claims
- Align fleet safety with broader organizational initiatives
Sustainability & Innovation
- Expand EV adoption and oversee charging infrastructure
- Track carbon reduction and fuel efficiency metrics
- Pilot technologies like remote fueling and route optimization
Leadership & Collaboration
- Train warehouse fleet coordinators and ensure accountability
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, and HR on contracts, training, and communications
- Serve as fleet SME and advisor to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, or related field
- 7–10 years of fleet management experience (logistics, foodservice, or distribution preferred)
- Expertise in financial governance, vendor management, and compliance
- Experience with telematics and fleet optimization
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- CAFM or NAFA certification preferred
