The Role: 

Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Director of Product Management to join our team. If hired as our new Director of Product Management, you will be responsible for developing, managing and growing various markets segments in the semiconductor processes areas for the Gas Purification Business Unit.  This global leadership role directly manages product management teams across the regions and controls all aspects of the product lines associated with their markets.  As the market leader, you would be responsible for developing strategic plans, and managing the segment revenue, profitability, and overall product line strategy – including developing associated product/technology roadmaps, driving new product development, and launching collateral materials for product success.  This position will also undertake the management of critical, daily activities to support the business with customers, operations, quality, and other cross-functional groups to ensure customer satisfaction.  

 

What You’ll Do: 

• Lead cross-functional, global teams to execute on market and product line strategy, including the management of product definition, commercialization, manufacturing, pricing, and product life cycle and horizon planning.

• Drive profitability of the market segment in line with the BU P&L targets, including the understanding of cost structure and managing in-market pricing.

• Build product/technology roadmaps and define market requirements for product development (via stage-gate process) to ensure the product pipeline for future market success 

• Develop a deep understanding of customer needs through voice of customer; be a champion for all levels of the organization 

• Drive new product sampling and adoption with key customers and partners 

• Align on portfolio management; help to secure and align resources to key product/market priorities 

• Be a critical decision maker in support of operations on production priority and allocation as necessary  

• Understand and develop competitive market positioning and market share analysis of assigned markets  

• Maintain and updating revenue forecasts in alignment with sales and operations; drive long term capacity planning 

• Manage and train successful Product Managers in support of individual Market segment goals 

   

What We Seek: 

• A technical background with a Bachelors of Chemistry, Engineering, Material Science or related fields. A Master's Degree in a related field or an MBA is strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of the gas purification business, including gas purification fundamentals and/or semiconductor market requirements and competitors

• Strong understanding of semiconductor processes 

• Strong foundation in principles of Product Management 

• Successful track record of leading cross functional and cross -cultural teams – delivering growth in critical product lines  

• Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities while driving leadership across cross-functional teams 

• Skilled at leadership in portfolio and P&L Management with understanding of the key financial metrics to drive the broader business/portfolio management
