About the role

Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. This is a net new line of business, constructed with an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes an energetic and creative environment. We are unencumbered and will need your contribution to make it a world class engineering center with the focus on excellence. At Oracle Health, our mission is to improve healthcare and quality of life globally through better experience and easier access to health and research data for patients and healthcare providers.
We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in all areas of software engineering: distributed systems, identity, security, observability, and user experience.
This is a greenfield opportunity to design and build new cloud centric applications from the ground up. We are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact here. You will be part of a team of smart, motivated, diverse set of people, and given the autonomy as well as support to do your best work. It is a multifaceted and flexible workplace where you’ll belong and be encouraged.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for engineers with experience in building control plane components for public cloud services.
You have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production. You work on most projects and tasks independently and extend technical leadership to development teams.
In this role, you will enable development teams by driving design of major service components, working with engineering managers and TPMs, and providing direct guidance to more junior team members. You are able to go from high level system design, writing architectural documentation and driving engineering peer reviews to hands-on prototyping, code reviews and project bootstrapping.
You are technically strong and get a lot done. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements. You’ve made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements with your ability to automate and instrument.

  • Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Design and development of Java Services and Restful Web Services.
  • Agile Software Design Principles (Scrum).
  • JIRA, Maven, Git, Github, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Crucible in software development iterations.

  • Experience developing automated tests using JUnit.
  • Healthcare domains (FHIR, HL7, Cerner) and concepts.

Career Level - IC3

As a member of the software engineering division, you will help define and develop software enhancements within the existing software architecture of the Patient Administration Services. You will need to ensure that the software developed is scalable, performant, and resilient to provide the best possible experience for our healthcare providers and patients utilizing the system. Associated tasks will include designing, implementing services, implementing automated tests, investigation, and debugging applications and services.
