Job Description

Introduction to Markets 

The Markets business area (M) delivers industry-leading green market solutions to customers and Statkraft’s assets via energy management, asset exposure management, proprietary trading, and origination.  

Markets Strategy Development is a staff unit represented in Oslo and Düsseldorf. We are responsible for driving the formulation, development and review of the Markets business area strategy. The team identifies, scopes, prioritizes and manages strategic projects initiated or approved by EVP Markets or the Markets management team. We also drive the performance agenda for strategy implementation and business development. Our work involves close collaboration, coordination and in many cases management of various stakeholders within the Market business area and at corporate level. 

Your role 

• Lead Market’s Strategy Development team (MBS) consisting of 4-5 highly skilled strategy advisors located in Oslo and Düsseldorf 

• Be a trusted, independent strategic advisor to EVP M and the M management team 

• Accountable for delivery of strategic projects to EVP M and M management 

• Accountable for MBS operational responsibilities such as delivery of, and participation to, the M yearly strategic update & planning process. This includes working closely with the Performance Management function to facilitate Performance Reviews 

• Accountable for MBS role as Business Partner to Corporate Strategy, representing M in the Statkraft’s strategic network and in strategic projects run by Corporate Strategy 

• Support M’s improvement agenda together with the M’s Strategic Management Office 

Management responsibilities 

• The position reports to Senior Vice President M Business Support (MB) and is a member of the MB management team 

• Ensure the safety, well-being and development of employees. 

• Develop the organisation to deliver on business priorities and ensure collaboration with other units 

• Ensure awareness of and adherence to the Code of Conduct and The Statkraft Way.  

• Oversee the overall planning, budgeting, and performance management process within the unit 

Qualifications

Knowledge and skills 

• Experience managing staff functions and delivering support to top-level management and business units, preferably in large or medium-sized international organisations with matrix and global operations.  

• Experience optimising financial performance, value creation and managing financial actions across project portfolios.  

• Strong understanding of strategy processes 

• Deep knowledge and understanding of Energy Markets 

• Strong project management skills 

• Solid understanding of performance and risk management 

• Strategic mindset 

• Strong analytical capabilities 

• Ability to make sound judgements and take decisions 

• Proactive and driven problem-solver 

• Excellent communicator and consensus builder 

• Upholds high standards of independence and integrity
