Summary of the Role:

The Executive Director, Rare Disease Marketing is responsible for the creation and implementation of product strategy and promotional plans designed to achieve US sales objectives by meeting the needs of the communities we serve. They will be responsible for leading strategic direction for Crysvita within the X-Linked Hypophosphatemia and Tumor Induced Osteomalacia current US indications, and for any potential future indications.  This includes utilizing data and market knowledge to identify and initiate optimal approaches to both current product value and future areas of opportunity.  Internally, they will lead internal cross functional matrix teams, and manage external agencies and ensure the alignment of stakeholders to meet goals. Externally, they will assume full responsibilities around current and future collaborative commercial activities with North American business partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the collaborative planning, alignment, approval, execution, measurement, and ongoing refinement of product marketing strategies designed to drive US performance.
  • Develops and leads the commercial strategy for Crysvita, including market development, and lifecycle management activities with cross-functional partners and successful timely implementation of a full complement of strategically driven programs on time and on budget.
  • Managing direct reports, developing, and ensuring implementation of tactical plans within associated budgets and project timelines
  • Identifies, evaluates and implements commercial teams to best meet the needs of our customers and communities (i.e., Thought Leader Liaison team, Disease Educators etc.)
  • Ensures a productive and cost-effective relationship with external agencies and partners.
  • Drives alignment and consistent use of Brand messages across the organization (Sales, Marketing, Patient Services, Managed Markets, Medical, etc.). and in line with broader global strategy
  • Ensures key promotional programs are managed effectively achieving KPIs on time and on budget.
  • Facilitates and delegate appropriately to ensure a smooth running and compliant PRC process in concert with the Marketing Coordinator, PRC Team Members and agencies.
  • Liaises with Sales Management and contributes significantly to selling strategy development, IC plan development, identification and implementation of additional field engagement teams, training, and targeting.
  • Ensure strategic alignment and ‘Ways of Working’ with Medical Affairs consistent with legal and compliance standards.
  • Ensures close collaboration with Patient Services and Patient Advocacy to identify and address key areas of need within the patient and caregiver community.
  • Utilizes Field Advisory Teams to collect input on tactics, performance, opportunities, and challenges, as well as test materials.
  • Identifies training gaps; develops and implements plans to close gaps.
  • Ensures smooth and effective POA rollout of training and promotional initiatives.
  • Manages in collaboration with Public Affairs productive external relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, Congress leadership (e.g., ENDO, ASBMR, ECE, ISPOR, etc.), and patient advocacy groups.
  • Manages, coaches, and professionally develops a team of marketing professionals across a broad range of expertise and experience (including TLL and Nurse Educator Teams).
  • Collaborates with Managed Markets team to ensure effective strategies are identified, and tactics are in place to ensure optimal access to patients who can benefit from our therapies; collaborates with Patients Services HUB to ensure an optimal level of patient engagement and support.
  • Develops and implements market research tactics to gain actionable insights and measure performance.
  • Collaborates with Analytics and Commercial Operations to ensure appropriate CRM build, leads generation and dissemination, understanding, and flow of sales performance and patient services data.
  • Supports business development efforts and ad hoc strategic initiatives as requested by the GM, and BU Head (i.e. BoD presentations).
