Adventist Rehabilitation seeks to hire a Therapy Education Specialist Physical Therapist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Therapy Education Specialist, you will:
•Orient and supervise clinical staff throughout the 90 day introductory/probationary period.
•Serve as a mentor and clinical staff resource throughout the first 12 months hire for all new clinical employees.
•Support new clinicians throughout orientation using Orientation Checklist for OASIS accuracy, clinical documentation, clinical competency, home observation visits and electronic documentation support.
•Perform performance improvement functions as needed to support advancing clinical education and knowledge that aligns with State, Federal and Accreditation requirements.
•Serve on agency committees as appropriate.
•Conduct joint visits with field staff to assure clinical competence and OASIS Accuracy during orientation and on an ongoing basis as need is identified.
•Plan and evaluate patient care that is comprehensive and organized to achieve relevant goals.
•Assist in ensuring accurate OASIS documentation.
•Document patient care and related information according to Federal and State regulations, completed per standards set by Agency.
•Meet productivity standard set by agency demonstrating flexibility, commitment and adaptability.
•Manage an active caseload with varying volume.
•Attend mandatory and non-mandatory meetings.
•Make appropriate interventions to provide for safe and effective care addressing all of patient’s needs.
•Assist clinical staff in organizational skills to meet accuracy, efficiency and productivity standards.
•Orient new staff to minimize low turnover rate during first 12 months of hire.
•Advise staff on holistic approach to healthcare to ensure appropriate uses of MSW and Chaplain.
•Support accreditation process related to clinical competence and accountability.
Qualifications include:
•Master’s or Doctorate degree in designated therapy field required
•Current and Active Maryland Therapy licensure
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
•Two years full time experience in acute care therapy environment or facility therapy within the past five years of hire date preferred
•1-2 years supervisory/management experience preferred
•Valid driver’s license and auto insurance that meets AHC required limits
Successful completion of formal preceptor training program within the first 90 days of hire.
