Job Description Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving complex incidents, fulfilling complicated requests, and implementing account wide sweeping changes. It would be your responsibility to ensure the smooth operation and high availability of the systems that support cloud services through cloud monitoring, provisioning & security tools.

As part of the GE Aerospace Digital Technology separation workstream, the Sr Systems Administration Engineer- Service Delivery is a project role that will support the separation of GE Aerospace into an independent, investor-grade company.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

• Influences PBs on their decisions.
• Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for cloud infrastructure components or large-scale IaaS.
• Utilizes extensive expertise to dramatically increase productivity in resolving incidents, fulfilling requests, and implementing changes across all compute infrastructure.
• Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across the business.
• Provides technical leadership and operational support for planned releases, incidents, and issue resolution.
• Provides impact assessment and mitigation plan for changes going into the production environment.
• Drives continuous improvement of operational activities to maximize efficiency.
• Develops solutions to address potential problems before they result in a service interruption.
• Develops solutions to eliminate common or repetitive tasks.
• Leverages monitoring and automation tools to resolve problems.
• Assists with development of availability measures that align with consumer experience to accurately assess the usability of crucial services.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 2 years of professional experience OR associate degree with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 7 years of professional experience
• 2+ years of experience in Cloud, particularly AWS or Azure

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

• Vast knowledge in identity and access management implementations and methodologies
• Ability to analyze and recommend changes to improve reliability and compliance needs.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting SSO configuration.
• Proficiency with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with Amazon Managed Services
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
• Windows system administration experience
• A passion for staying updated with the latest security trends, emerging threats, and industry advancements.
