JOB SUMMARYWorks with district administration and the district English language support (ELS) team to promote the district's ELS vision: To provide culturally and linguistically diverse learners with equitable access to cohesive learning opportunities that accelerate their social and academic English, provide meaningful access to grade level content, and increase their overall achievement through collaboration and co-teaching. Provides targeted support and services to multilingual learners with limited or interrupted formal education (SLIFE), often facing challenges related to language acquisition, academic gaps, or social-emotional adjustment. Bridges the gap between a student's current skills and knowledge and the expectations of the school environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. Job Task Descriptions Frequency Percentage of Time

1.

Provide direct instruction and support to students, either individually or in small groups, focusing on building their language skills, academic knowledge in math and literacy, and social-emotional competence.  Weekly 30%

2.

Develop individualized intervention plans in math and literacy that address the specific needs of each student. These plans may include tailored instruction in English language development, academic subjects, or social-emotional skills.  Weekly 20%

3.

Collaborate closely with teachers and parents to ensure that students receive consistent support and that their individual needs are met. This may involve attending meetings, providing updates on progress, and offering strategies for supporting students at home.  Weekly 10%

4.

Advocate for students' needs within the school system and work to ensure that they have access to the necessary resources and support. Weekly 10%

5.

Assess SLIFE multilingual learners to identify their strengths, needs, and areas where they may require additional support. This may involve language proficiency tests, academic assessments, and observation of their social-emotional behavior. Weekly 5%

6.

Continuously monitor student progress, adjusting intervention plans as needed based on ongoing assessments and observations Weekly 5%

7.

Stay current on best practices in SLIFE education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge. Weekly 5%

8.

Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
