Job Summary:

Position:          Warehouse Assistant

FLSA:                Non-Exempt Hourly, Full time

Location:         New Orleans, LA

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage all incoming and outgoing Warehouse furniture shipping traffic. Assist assembling and placing furniture on site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the receiving of all goods delivered to, and shipped from, the warehouse.
• Log and communicate to team all outgoing and incoming deliveries.
• Ensure all incoming deliveries are properly labeled and stored.
• Coordinate inbound outbound shipping with a variety of transportation carriers.
• Use software to track and check orders.
• Inspect deliveries for damage. Initiate resolving issues regarding received orders.
• Package outgoing orders for delivery according to common carrier requirements for national or international shipping.
• Build custom shipping crates for non-standard products.
• Manage loading, unloading moving vans at warehouse and on site.
• Assemble furniture kits, table bases.
• Assist Furniture Coordinator in placing furniture on site.
• Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bills of lading, including compliance documentation.
• Assist in evaluating new package materials and systems.
• Manage light maintenance of Warehouse and equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe environment.
• Ensure necessary tools, supplies and safety equipment are on hand.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills.
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Acrobat.
• Capability to lift 25lb box.
• Forklift certified.
