Global Supply Planner

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Global Supply Planner at Smartwool looks a little like this.

You as Global Supply Planner will coordinate, prepare, and track the global Smartwool planning process through setting up the seasonal Global Buy Calendar, collecting all regionals inputs and consolidating them in global requirement by managing the consensus process with all relevant stakeholders. You will pass the global requirement to the Sourcing offices, following up on sourcing feedback and monitoring season production and shipments.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Collecting all Production planning parameters (LT, MOQ) and all data needed to set the Seasonal Buy Calendar, recognizing, and understanding possible trends and variances.

  • Ensuring all the production constraints are considered and reflected.

  • Identifying potential risks and opportunities in the production plan and taking all the appropriate actions accordingly.

  • Taking part to the monthly buy process by collecting all regional inputs, consolidating them in a global requirement and coordinating the related follow ups.

  • Preparing Buy & Buy Plan reporting to share with Sourcing offices.

  • Following up on Sourcing offices feedback and monitor season production.

  • Monitoring capacity and provide information for production priority in case of capacity issues.

  • Tracking the whole value chain of raw material from wool to yarn to fabrics and supervising Raw Material commitments and liability.

  • Preparing reports for Vendor performance (OTP, Production Shortage & Excess, Seconds….) and for Global Initiatives, taking care of publication and highlighting risks and opportunities.

  • Supporting the global line efficiency in collaboration with Merchandising identifying the seasonal drops.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 1+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Collaborative person, predisposed to personal relationships.

  • Strong process engineering and Data mining mindset.

  • Excellence in Excel and Access programs.

  • Experience in working with BI tools (Cognos 10…).

  • Experience in a Microsoft Windows environment.

  • Good English communication skills, written and spoken.

Location requirement: Hybrid role—3 days in the office in Denver, Colorado.

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • 1-2 years of Planning experience
