We’re seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead our critical departments—Operations, Housekeeping, Dietary, and Maintenance—ensuring that each upholds the highest standards of care and operational efficiency. This role not only focuses on departmental oversight but also fosters collaborative culture, empowering our team and enhancing the patient experience.

 

Position Details:

  • Reporting to: Executive Clinical Director
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 5pm, with availability for after-hours and weekend needs as required
  • Location: Sebring, FL (On-site)

 

Position Summary:

The Director of Operations plays a crucial role in managing multiple departments while also being a pillar of patient care. This position involves oversight of the intake and discharge processes, addressing patients facing challenges during their treatment journey, and ensuring smooth operations across various departments. This role requires a hands-on manager capable of leading a diverse team to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for both patients and staff. The Director of Operations will ensure that organizational goals and standards are met while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence in patient care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Departmental Oversight

  • Oversee Operations, Housekeeping, Dietary, and Maintenance departments, ensuring each meets goals set by leadership.
  • Communicate new directives, policies, and procedures to directors and supervisors, holding meetings to ensure understanding, answer questions, and maintain team morale.
  • Manage the intake and discharge processes to ensure a smooth transition for patients.

Staff Supervision & Training

  • Supervise, train, and monitor team members, fostering professional growth and adherence to company standards.
  • Conduct mandatory monthly meetings for training, addressing any issues, and providing feedback.
  • Complete performance reviews for team members, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for development and advancement.
  • Facilitate interviews and evaluate candidates for operational roles, ensuring alignment with organizational values and team needs.

Patient Coordination & Support

  • Collaborate with clinical staff to establish patient schedules and activities.
  • Maintain communication with interdepartmental team regarding patient needs.
  • Assist with interventions, and address grievances or complaints promptly.
  • Address any challenges patients encounter during their treatment journey related to operational processes and procedures.

Safety & Compliance

  • Oversee and conduct weekly safety inspections of residences, facilities, and transportation vehicles.
  • Supervise the completion of all routine maintenance, repairs, and safety reports, ensuring timely submission and adherence to standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and maintain patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA, CFR-42, and security protocols.

Scheduling & Reporting

  • Plan and coordinate staff shifts, patient transportation, and facility events.
  • Generate monthly reports to monitor progress and ensure completion of projects on schedule.

Decision-Making & Problem Solving

  • Utilize independent judgment and strong decision-making skills to address day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Delegate tasks as necessary to ensure efficient patient support and operational flow.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a management role, preferably in a behavioral health care setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of substance use disorder or mental health treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of operations in a residential treatment work-environment.
  • Familiarity with patient confidentiality, healthcare code of ethics, relevant state regulations and Joint Commission standards.
  • Experience working with patients at various levels of care, with an emphasis on detox and residential levels of care.
