The Personal Contents Property Adjuster position is responsible for the day-to-day management of an inventory of personal property claims resulting from fire, water, pest infestation and theft occurring at a storage facility. You will be required to review rental agreements, investigate losses including video surveillance, gate logs, securing statements from the facility, the insured and witnesses, validating submitted worksheets of personal property values; manage and control independent adjusters, and experts; interpret the policy to make proper coverage and payment determinations; post and evaluate reserves; write coverage letters and reports; and provide exceptional customer service.
The position will report directly to the Team Leader and the selected candidate is expected to have a high degree of initiative and ability to prioritize, multi-task, maintain flexibility and meet industry best practices and claim handling requirements in a fast-paced, changing environment.
The candidate selected will be required to work in-office a minimum of three days each week.
Position Responsibilities:
- Investigation of facts of loss, including computerized damage estimating of personal property
- Conduct coverage analysis to determine eligibility, and any exclusions
- Write coverage letters, including disclaimers and Reservation of Rights letters for distribution to customers.
- Ensure timely posting of loss and expense reserves and handling of a claim from assignment to completion by investigating that claim and interpreting coverage.
- Review and adherence to client handling instructions
- Settle claims promptly and fairly
- Ensure data integrity through proper coding and system functions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills
- Strong project management skills and ability to work independently
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PPT)
- Excellent writing skills relating to policy interpretation
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience with claims handling systems
- Experience evaluating property damage estimates (i.e. Xactimate)
- Adjuster licensing is a plus
- Claims handling experience preferred
- Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances.
The pay range for the role is $54,000 to $86,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
