Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a GN&C Analysis & Algorithms Manager 2. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

The selected candidate will report directly to the SDS GN&C Department Manager within the SDS Systems Engineering organization. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 8 and 12 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities will be personnel performance management, process familiarization and training for Section members, as well as staffing of roles on projects.

As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities with 80% of your efforts focused on a technical leadership supporting the GN&C Analysis & Algorithms team.

What You’ll Get To Do.

This manager lead engineer and will play an active in role of developing physics based models, 6-DOF simulations, flight and ground system algorithms, determining control stability, ground testing leading to flight test analysis, and ensuring program requirements are met. The individual must be capable of leading a team in a highly dynamic environment, establishing strong working relationships with elements across the program (e.g. NIMS, Guidance Computer, Software, Integration & Test), and be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The manager will assume functional management responsibilities which includes employee career development and being the enabling function for employee’s success. The manager will also support the cost account manager, and help ensure program deliverables and deadlines are being met.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and a minimum 8 years of related experience or Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related experience

• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need

• Experience in Program Execution, Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources, Processes, and Tools.

• Experience in Product Lifecycle Management Tools

• Earned Value Experience

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) or related discipline

• Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance

• Experience in People and Technical Leadership roles

• Experience working in an Agile team or even leading a scrum team or being a product owner

• 1+ years' of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule

• Interfacing and extending 6-DOF simulations with real-time environments

• Understanding of GN&C algorithms and flight critical software development

• Experience with all phases of the systems engineering development life cycle,
