Project Manager III - NCCT Clinical Trial Recruitment

JOB SUMMARY

The National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT) is designed to serve as an innovative platform to revolutionize and catalyze the conduct of clinical trials−greatly accelerating the translation of scientific findings into improvements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease for our communities and patients. The NCCT will offer core services for patient recruitment and enrollment, trial administration and follow-up, and to gather real world data and evidence.

This position will be part of a team that is responsible for participant recruitment and will report to the Director of Clinical Trial Recruitment in the NCCT and will serve as a liaison between the NCCT and the research participant call center. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree related to project management and evaluation, such as Epidemiology, Public Health, Psychology, or Sociology and four years of relevant administrative and medical experience in research projects or other health-related activities; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Project Manager will play an essential role ensuring the call center is meeting business goals of operational efficiency, high-quality service and continuous improvement. The Project Manager must demonstrate a blend of strategic thinking, strong leadership and problem-solving skills to optimize Call Center performance.

  1. Act as a liaison between the NCCT Recruitment Team and the call center for clinical trial participant recruitment.
  2. Assist in the development of detailed project plans, timelines and resource needs for Call Center initiatives. 
  3. Activate project plans and manage coordination of all aspects of Call Center to be used for clinical trial activities.
  4. Proactively identify potential needs of a Call Center that supports clinical trials from multiple perspectives: IT, regulatory, data, participant/customer service, etc.
  5. Represent NCCT in meetings with internal and external partners, clients and stakeholders.
  6. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  7. Stay current on clinical trial industry trends that might impact the needs of the Call Center’s ability to effectively support participant interactions.
  8. Manage stakeholder communication by maintaining clear and consistent communication with NCCT leadership and team members
  9. Work with Study Feasibility team to provide input into recruitment and study conduct plans.
  10. Work with Call Center leadership to ensure agents are aware of performance goals and follow workflows that promote ideal average call handling time and customer satisfaction.
  11. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Call Center and verify data is captured and reflected in reporting mechanisms.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 4+ years managing projects and/or processes.
  • Must have 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience working with clinical trials.
  • Working knowledge of clinical trial management systems and electronic medical records.
  • Detailed understanding of clinical trial operations and challenges from the recruitment perspective. 
  • Experience in leading teams and in decision-making role(s).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
