About the role
Since Day 1, Amazon has focused on providing new and innovative technologies to solve challenges in the last mile delivery space. The Last Mile team ensures the most customer-centric experience possible, from the time a customer places an order with Amazon to the time the package reaches the customer. Amazon Flex is an integral part of this world class last mile operation. Amazon Flex works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages.
Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems, and allows delivery partners to on board, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation, and more. The approach and technology are disruptive, and promise to challenge traditional approaches, and change the way the industry operates.
We are looking for an experienced leader to run the Service Level Standards program within Amazon Flex, leading a team to ensure that Flex Delivery Partners (DPs) provide high quality deliveries to Amazon customers. This leader will be an independent thinker who displays high judgment, makes data-driven decisions, and drives innovative solutions with business partners. They will evolve and scale the organization along with the business, leading by example, and being just as passionate about operational performance as they are about all other aspects of the customer experience. With the business growing rapidly, this leader will need to exhibit excellent judgment and bring clarity of thinking on how to operate in an ambiguous environment.
You must be a customer focused individual. This position requires strong self-motivation, people leadership, and project management skills and the ideal candidate will have the ability to work closely with both operations and technology to develop automated solutions for complex, technology and market-related challenges. This position is part of the worldwide Amazon Flex team, with global responsibility.
Key job responsibilities
• Create the vision and roadmap to enable accurate evaluation of driver performance and improved customer delivery quality
• Drive process excellence across teams by developing SOPs and closed loop mechanisms
• Blend data analytics, judgment, empathy, and operational rigor to manage risk and improve quality
• Work across multiple stakeholders to develop mechanisms to ensure we drive continuous learning and improvement throughout the organization
• Identify opportunities and champion your vision to build organizational alignment.
• Work cross functionally with development, operations, and other product managers to deliver groundbreaking innovations.
• Define, prioritize, and plan the resources needed for programs/projects to be delivered on time.
• Successful candidates will be excellent communicators, curious, highly motivated and effective within distributed teams.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
