There are 2 Positions – One position will support Trauma  and the other position will support Recon Hips & Knees.

What will you be doing?

As a key member of the US Orthopedics Finance Team, the Finance Business Partners (FBP) are responsible for financial reporting and business partnering with Marketing along with one of the VP of Sales for one of the three US areas to drive business expansion and profitable growth. By developing and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships, the FBP will provide commercial and financial insight to drive performance and ensure rigor in decision-making.

By combining finance expertise with business acumen, the Finance Business Partners will provide valuable insight to ensure optimal decision-making outcomes and constructively challenges the business to ensure ongoing alignment to strategic and financial goals. This includes evaluating investment opportunities, identifying efficiency and cost improvements and identifying and mitigating commercial risk. Furthermore, the Finance Business Partners are expected to proactively identify, propose and pursue opportunities for innovation and growth.

  • Drive business performance by partnering with business partners to set performance targets, monitor performance against KPIs, assess commercial risk and intervene to exploit opportunity or re-set course where necessary to ensure the franchise and areas meets and exceeds their objectives.

  • Challenge the business and its functional stakeholders to ensure rigor in decision-making. This will involve providing commercial and financial insight in many areas of the business including, but not limited to, sales force effectiveness, customer and portfolio profitability, asset efficiency, pricing strategy and commercial risk management.

  • Drive the strategic and commercial planning processes for the appropriate product lines (Hips, Knees or Trauma) and Sales Area. This will include strategic review planning, budgeting and forecasting and will require an excellent understanding of business drivers required to achieve business objectives.

  • Monitor and interpret market and environmental trends, the competitive landscape and competitor strategy and provide insight to the business on how this might impact on strategy and performance.

  • Identify, lead and drive innovation and change initiatives in the organization. Support the business and its functional stakeholders in the implementation and monitoring of business initiatives.

  • Partner with the business or its functional stakeholders to manage external relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes for the business.

  • Managing the interaction between FP&A COE and GBS, in co-ordination with the VP, Finance US Orthopedics.

  • Provide partnership in acting as key finance partner to critical sales supporting functions, as required.  Including partnering directly with Ortho Leadership members & teams to develop robust budgets/forecasts, monthly reporting, & identifying both investment & savings opportunities.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Finance, Commerce or Accounting preferred, but relevant business-related qualifications will be considered.

  • Post-graduate degree in business management/administration or equivalent is advantageous CA/CIMA or equivalent.

  • CPA/CIA preferred

  • Experience: 8+ years post-qualification experience with at least 2 years in a senior commercial finance role.

  • Relevant industry experiences advantageous, ideally in Medical Devices or Pharmaceuticals.

  • Highly talented individual with the ability and willingness to progress to more senior Finance roles.

  • Ability to work across multiple initiatives simultaneously and process complex data to generate relevant insight.

  • A high level of communication skills, including ability to translate financial performance to non-Finance individuals.

  • Ability to continuously learn and acquire knowledge.

  • Ability to use financial insight and business acumen to solve problems.

  • Confidence to intervene and challenge the business when appropriate.
