We are now looking for a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to join our Observability Engineering Unit.

About our team

 

Observability Engineering is a team running most of the bank’s python automation platforms. We build, developer and maintain these platform (for example Airflow, JupyterHub). Together with our 24/7 operations we also keep these platforms always on. Python is growing in Nordea and the team is part of this transformation.

 

As an engineer in Observability engineering, you will help configure and deploy platforms. You will also be part of handling tickets, inquires and incidents related to our platforms. This will involve coding, deployments, monitoring and investigations when needed.

 

Main responsibilities in this role:

• Configure and deploy open-source platforms on Kubernetes
• Build customisations based on popular demand among our tenants
• Implement new tooling as needed (Vault service, DBT core and celery are examples)
• Help manage our 2nd and 3rd level support for the platforms. We have an operations team that handle the 24/7, but you will be part of complex or new types of incidents
• Be part of developing best practices and blueprints for common use cases (like connecting to standard databases, managing secrets, test automation etc.)

 

The role is based in Finland, Poland or Sweden. We have a hybrid working model that ensure we get together in the office while also allowing for some flexibility.

 

Who you are

 

We are looking for an engineer with some experience in platforms. If you have the relevant experience this position can also be hired directly as senior, but we encourage you to apply even with less experience.

 

Your experience and background:

• Experience with CICD tooling and GitOps (we use Jenkins, Argo and bitbucket)
• Experience with Linux and Kubernetes
• Experience with python automation platforms like Airflow and JupyterHub is a plus
• We have a multiple-year target to be both in public and private cloud, so experience in running cloud services is a plus
