About the Role:

 

JBS Australia is currently recruiting a versatile and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our finance team based at our Riverview office This role plays a pivotal part in supporting both the Accounts Receivable and Collections functions, with a primary focus on credit assessments, customer account setup, and ensuring adherence to company credit policies. The successful candidate will also assist in day-to-day collections and AR functions as needed.

 

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

 

• Conduct credit assessments for new and existing customers using internal risk criteria and third-party credit tools (e.g., Equifax, CreditorWatch).
• Make recommendations for credit limits and payment terms based on analysis of credit applications, trade references, and credit reports.
• Ensure customer onboarding processes are completed accurately and within service-level timelines.
• Conduct credit assessments for new and existing customers using internal risk criteria and third-party credit tools (e.g., Equifax, CreditorWatch).
• Make recommendations for credit limits and payment terms based on analysis of credit applications, trade references, and credit reports.
• Monitor customer credit exposures and alert relevant stakeholders of potential risks or breaches.
• Assist with chasing overdue accounts, issuing statements, and reconciling customer accounts.
• Contribute to the resolution of disputed invoices or payment issues in collaboration with internal departments.
• Support month-end processes including reporting, reconciliations, and account analysis.

 

About you:

 

• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections in a commercial (B2B) environment.
• Solid understanding of credit risk, collections processes, and the Australian credit landscape (PPSA, Privacy Act, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a risk-based mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently across teams and with customers.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data handling and documentation.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pronto) and Excel.
• Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or business (desirable).
