SUPERVISOR:
Director or designee.
SUMMARY:
Active care and supervision of children in the child care program. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follows and enforces Division of Childcare Rules Regulating Child Care Centers.
2. Completes all tasks assigned by director.
3. Follows procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.
4. Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
5. Follows and enforces program discipline policies and procedures.
6. Helps with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment, materials, and supplies.
7. Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, curriculum and program quality.
8. Demonstrates excellent communication with parents, school staff and coworkers.
9. Follows district policies and goals and uses district facilities with care.
10. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. The assistant in the toddler program must be at least 16 years of age; the assistant in the infant program must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Assistants must demonstrate an ability to work with children.
3. Assistants must work directly under the supervision of the director or group leader.
4. Each year of employment, the assistant should complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
5. Current First Aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain with thirty (30) days.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Occasional lifting, pulling, and/or pushing.
2. Moderate effort may be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
3. Frequent bending, reaching, climbing.
4. Visual concentration.
5. Squatting.
6. Working with others.
