Civil Designer
Join our Civil Engineering design team as a Civil Designer! In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies.
Location
This position will report to our downtown Boston office on a hybrid work schedule.
The Impact You Will Have
- Assist in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadways, bridges, and site development projects
- Perform field data collection, site visits, and construction inspections
- Conduct engineering calculations and analyses (e.g., drainage, geometric design, traffic)
- Support permitting processes and coordination with local, state, and federal agencies
- Prepare technical reports and presentation materials
- Collaborate with fellow engineers, planners, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery
- Stay up to date with MassDOT & MBTA policies and AASHTO standards
What You Will Need
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- E.I. (and desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred
- 1-4 years of experience is preferred, but other candidates with different ranges of experience will also be considered
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
- Willingness to be adaptable to office and field tasks
- The position may include the need to perform work in the field and may require travel to project sites
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)
