Director - Cross-Regional Power and Renewables Research Lead

The Impact: As the lead for cross-regional research initiatives in global power and renewables research team, your work will directly shape investment strategies and reinforce S&P Global Commodity Insights' position as a leader in power market insights and data-driven solutions. The role encompasses research production, team collaboration, and commercial support. Research topics include policy analysis, regulatory frameworks, market reforms, emerging trends, supply/demand/price forecasts and analytics globally or across multiple regions. The position will also involve collaboration with internal teams such as other research groups and commercial and supporting functions to enhance S&P Global’s brand recognition and maximize commercial value.

Responsibilities:

• Cross-Regional Insights: Spearhead and coordinate research initiatives across multiple regions to develop high-impact research reports that inform investment decisions.

• Thought Leadership: Act as a spokesperson and thought leader, representing S&P Global Commodity Insights at industry conferences, media engagements, and client meetings.

• Innovation in Research: Drive the adoption of innovative research methodologies and tools, enhancing the quality, efficiency, and impact of research outputs.

• Team Development: Mentor and work with a high-performing team of analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Energy, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s or PH.D. degrees are preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy research, with a focus on power and renewables.

• Proven thought leadership in energy and power market and policy analysis.

• Proven experience in managing cross-regional research projects and teams with or without a direct supervisory role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of producing impactful research.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

• Effective interpersonal skills to enable communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients.

• An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing global environment.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
