A caregiver in this position works days from 10:00AM - 6:30PM with weekend requirements 8:30am - 5:00pm.

• Weekends are approximately every 7-8 weeks, and the shift is 8:30-5 on Saturday and Sunday.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.  
• Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. 
• Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.  
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.  
• Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.  
• Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

• High School Diploma or GED   
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) required upon hire 
• Active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician required OR Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with agreement of updating registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire 
• Understanding of algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds   

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    

• Six months of hospital experience
