Senior Software Engineer

The Mixed Reality Core OS Software team has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with a deep understanding of Android/Linux OS Kernel, HAL, and System Service layers. This individual will require solid software development skills to build performant and reliable drivers and services for our devices. We are the team that develops the foundational software that breathes life into our Mixed Reality hardware, enabling our AI, Runtimes, and Experience teams to collectively create delightful and engaging user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet device requirements 
• Develop efficient and robust system software for highly dependable systems 
• Conduct post-implementation validation of software and address any defects identified during testing. 
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to identify and resolve system problems 
• Integrating, testing, and debugging third-party solutions and collaboration with Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience
• 4 + years' experience in C/C++ design and coding skills.
• 2+ Years Experience in implementing low level software for Linux or Android. (System Services, Android Runtime, Hardware Abstraction Layer, etc.)

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
