Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt | Pay Grade 6
Reports To: Library Services and Outreach Manager

Clermont County Public Library is seeking a Library Services and Outreach Supervisor to lead innovative, engaging outreach efforts and support impactful programming throughout the county.

About the Role

As the Library Services and Outreach Supervisor, you'll help shape and deliver services that bring the library directly into the community. Working closely with the Library Services and Outreach Manager, you'll contribute to outreach strategy, mentor staff, coordinate services at partner sites, and ensure programming aligns with the needs and interests of those we serve.

You will play a key role in taking the library on the road, both literally and figuratively, by supporting our Library 2 Go delivery service, coordinating pop-up libraries, and building strong partnerships within community partners. This position includes driving the library van to outreach events, supporting system-wide programming, fostering cross-department collaboration, and enriching the library experience both within our walls and out in the community.

Blending frontline leadership, community engagement, programming coordination, and a focus on service excellence, you'll also assist with in-house operations and serve as acting manager when the manager is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the manager in coordinating the daily operations of outreach services, including programming, Library 2 Go, and pop-up events. Manage logistics and serve as the primary point of contact for community partners and delivery sites.
  • Under direction of the manager, lead, inspire, and develop dedicated teams through effective hiring, supervision, coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Work with manager to drive community engagement by building and sustaining community partnerships that expand the Library's reach and deepen its impact. Represent the Library at local events and meetings.
  • Ensure a welcoming and safe experience across all touchpoints of service-outreach vehicles, events, library facilities, and partner locations.
  • Champion a positive workplace culture through clear communication, collaboration, and upholding the manager's expectations
  • Assist in developing, delivering, and evaluating inclusive, age-appropriate programs at outreach sites and in-house locations.
  • Interpret and communicate library policies and procedures to staff and guests, promoting understanding and ensuring consistent adherence.
  • Support collection management, including weeding, processing donations, and collaborating with Collection Services on acquisitions
  • Mentor staff, identify development opportunities, and support professional growth.
  • Collaborate on system-wide planning and programming with other departments and programmers.
  • Monitor statistics and programming budgets; maintain accurate records including payroll, leave requests, and reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness in conjunction with the manager.
  • Contribute to library policy and procedure updates, strategic planning, and service enhancements.

What You Bring

  • Experience: At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a public library or similar setting with demonstrated strong organizational skills. Broad knowledge of youth and adult collections and popular titles.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required; Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program preferred.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience equivalent to one to two years supervisory responsibility, which may include supervising staff, managing team projects, chairing committees, or leading community initiatives.
  • Engagement: Strong background in programming, outreach, and public
