Department Overview
This is a limited duration, Part-time position that will conclude on June 30, 2026.
The Web Specialist 2 supports the goals of OHSU through OHSU’s organizational marketing and communications plan.
The person in this position will build, coordinate, manage and update content on OHSU’s public website. This person is responsible for consistency with site architecture and our style and brand guidelines, and with understanding content strategies to help keep content up to date.
The person will work with Digital Strategy, content strategists, marketing managers, developers and vendors to build and update content, and to collaborate on creative solutions to a wide variety of issues. The person will work especially closely with content strategists, who create and provide significant updates to content. The role will report directly to the digital engagement manager as part of the Brand Strategy and Marketing team.
This role requires basic webpage design skills, fluency with OHSU’s Drupal platforms for the public site, and familiarity with SEO and website best practices.
Function/Duties of Position
Content Production
- Build, update, manage and maintain public and internal website content, which includes (but is not limited to) designing, developing and building webpages in OHSU’s enterprise content management systems. Work with ITG/Digital Strategy on design, development and testing of various interfaces as they relate to the site’s use and navigation.
Technical Support
- Provides technical assistance and expertise to department users and other stakeholders in maintaining the public and internal websites. Acts as resource for clients using Drupal CMS.
Professional Development
- Regularly participate in educational and informative activities to stay current with trends in content strategy, SEO, analytics and other digital strategies, and share knowledge with peers.

Required Qualifications
One year of web design and support that has provided advanced HTML knowledge to include SSI’s and HTML frames.
Experience creating images using Photoshop or other graphical programs.
Programming knowledge
Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):
- Experience editing images using Photoshop or other programs.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and best practices.
- Experience building content in an enterprise-scale content management system (CMS).
- Understanding of marketing, user journeys / personas, content strategy, SEO, digital strategy and analytics concepts.
- Understanding of website information architecture (IA), sitemaps, and navigation.
- Experience working in a large, complex organization, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across departments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage stakeholders with different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
- Ability to clearly articulate key phases of a website project or initiative.
- Ability to explain best practices and support stakeholders in making informed decisions.
- Ability to clearly articulate key phases of website maintenance or redesign.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of content management systems (CMS)-driven sites.
- Website design and content entry.
- Sitemap development and implementation in a CMS.
- Advanced HTML knowledge.
- Working knowledge of project management software and issue tracking systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong abilities to prioritize and to work independently.
- Outstanding skills in grammar, spelling, vocabulary, writing are essential.
- Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience with a web analytics tool.
- Coursework in content strategy, SEO, UX, digital marketing, and/or data analysis.
- Demonstrated understanding of user experience (UX).
- Graphic design.
- Ability to adapt web designs for a cross-cultural audience.
Additional Details
This is a hybrid position. This role will be a combination of primarily telework and on-campus as assigned. Work schedule and location are generally within regular business hours. Campus workstations are shared.
