Reservoir Engineering is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Reservoir Engineering is responsible for monitoring the integrity and condition of PG&E's natural gas storage wells and reservoirs.
Position Summary
This position is represented by Engineers & Scientists of California (ESC) subject to collective bargaining.
This is a Senior Consulting -level Gas Reservoir Engineer job that requires mastery of the senior engineer duties. The Senior Consulting -level Gas Reservoir Engineer is responsible for assessing and monitoring the integrity of gas storage wells and reservoirs operated by PG&E including leading well entry/intervention and natural gas storage reservoir engineering projects, is a recognized expert within their area of responsibility, and applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices to resolve problems with only general direction. Provides technical leadership and coaching. Can researches and identifies practical solutions to problems. Identifies opportunities and brings in ideas to help improve company performance.
Resolves problems of varying scope. Serves as a key technical resource within area of specialization. Regularly expected to apply creativity or new approaches to assignments that may be unique. May lead others on technical projects. Customarily and regularly uses discretion and independent judgment in fulfilling these job functions.
May establish and maintain good external relations with counterparts in third party organizations, e.g., governmental, regulatory, business partner or community entities under general direction. Internal contacts include project team members, company management across various departments. Serves as the expert level on the team. Act as technical coach for others.
PG&E is providing the monthly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates.
The monthly rate for this position ranges from $12,980.00 to $16,717.00, under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.
Job Responsibilities
1. Engineering assignments include:
- Perform daily review of field activities, verification of pressure and rate data, gas sample data, and comparison of rates to deliverability curves
- Perform weekly review and update of hysteresis plots
- Provide weekly updates on assignments, field activities, and review and verification of data
- Review and update Monthly the field inventory to be used for engineering analysis
- Review, update, and assess monthly liquids production reports
- Compile, prepare, and seek approval of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission to DOGGR
- Perform storage field inventory analysis semi-annually and reporting findings
- Monitor injection and withdrawal performance of storage fields and provide forecasts and reports including assessment of flow test data.
- Assess well Integrity and reporting anomalies
2. Supports administration, review, and retention of records and data per company policies.
3. Participates in geologic and Reservoir engineering evaluation.
