Postdoctoral Associate

Classification Title: Postdoctoral Associate Classification Minimum Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Microbiology or a related field
• Proficiency in molecular genetics and protein biochemistry
• Demonstrated skills in data analysis, scientific writing, and communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
• Willingness to relocate or commute to Gainesville, Florida

Job Description:

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on microbial metabolism and genetics
• Utilize molecular biology, biochemistry, and omics approaches to study oral streptococci
• Analyze data, prepare manuscripts, and present findings at scientific meetings
• Mentor and train students in laboratory techniques and research methodology

Expected Salary:

Based on NIH guidelines and applicants experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Microbiology or a related field
• Proficiency in molecular genetics and protein biochemistry
• Demonstrated skills in data analysis, scientific writing, and communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
• Willingness to relocate or commute to Gainesville, Florida

Preferred:

• 2 years of experience in oral microbiology
• Strong background in microbial metabolism and physiology
• Experience in microbial interactions or microbial ecology
• Familiarity with NextGen sequencing or other omics technologies
• Experience in teaching or mentoring students
